You can blame Joel Beebe for all of this.

Because he let it happen.

Since I first pitched him this concept in the fall of 2006, he has supported it with passion and patience. …along with several other stories which have yet to be finished. …but let’s just see how this one goes first, okay?

About this time last year, we decided to finish this one. I can’t remember why. I think it had something to do with how it’s the weirdest thing either of us have ever thought up. Kind of an: “If we’re going to make something entirely on our own terms, why not break a lot of stuff in the process?”

Joel is one of the only people I know that never seems to tire of my scattered brain. He loves a creative challenge and he will stand and fight beside me until a story problem is resolved or a character arc is satisfactorily mapped out.

Regardless of my fickle whims and indecision, Joel has always been there to hold my hair back every time I need to creatively vomit.

Joel, you are one of the best friends I have ever had and my most faithful and dependable collaborator. Thank you for changing my life by helping this dream become a reality.

I can’t wait to introduce these people to Vern. But if that whole bit bombs, I’m going to blame you.

Oh, and Joel’s company .Free Clothing does our shirts!
